Artists Applications Close on 30 July 2010

The 2011 Apollo Bay Music Festival is presented over two days and two nights, commencing Friday 8 April evening till the finale in the late afternoon on Sunday 10 April.

A community, not for profit event, the Apollo Bay Music Festival aims to present a broad spectrum of musical and artistic performance in many and varied venues.

As an independent community festival, committed to presenting a broad program representing excellence in many genres of music and artistic performance, please understand that only a percentage of the many applicants will be selected to perform. With this in mind the selection committee will look at specific areas such as originality, versatility (e.g; ability to perform on varied stages or as part of a special event within the festival), and audience appeal, and due to budget constraints, affordability is also important when choosing artists.

When quoting your fee can you please factor in your travel to the festival and accommodation if you are unwilling to camp. Artists will be responsible for booking and paying for their own accommodation if they are not willing to camp. The Festival will provide camping sites only. Once an artist is booked a full list of accommodation options will be provided.

Please note that it is extremely unlikely to book an act two years in a row unless there are special circumstances, such as a CD launch or an artist/act has been extended an invitation to perform in a special themed event.

A volunteer selection committee reviews all applications received and all are given fair and reasonable consideration. The selection committee’s decision is final. If we have not contacted you by the end of September 2011 you have not been successful. As the committee receives thousands of application we cannot reply to them all.   • If selected for the festival in 2011 would you be prepared to perform at a festival fundraising concert where you would be reimbursed for costs such as travel and accommodation where applicable? 
  • Your Festival Engagement Fee Quote:
    Please consider the following information when quoting your fee.

    1. Performers are responsible for their own transport to, from and during the festival and all costs associated with their travel. Please factor your travel expenses into your quote, but again please keep in mind that this is a not for profit community festival when quoting.

    2. Camping sites will be provided by Festival. The artist/performer is responsible for the provision of their own camping gear. If you require another form of accommodation artist/performers are responsible for paying for and arranging their own accommodation. Please factor this cost into your quote.
  • If successful in being selected you will be sent a detailed accommodation list for you to secure alternate accommodation if camping does not suit your needs.  

    3. Hospitality riders are not supplied to any performers and all meals and refreshments are the performers responsibility. Please remember that The Apollo Bay Music Festival is a not for profit, community event.
    A usual festival appearance is 60 minutes long. As most acts will be programmed for three slots over the festival weekend we require a weekend engagement fee quote based on three, 60 minute appearances.

    This does not include change over or bump in and bump outs. (please note a set may be scaled back to 45 minutes but not less than) Quote for the weekend, based on three, 60 minute appearances.
