Daze to go!

With only days to go we’ve added even more to the already packed lineup! Joining the good ship Apollo in no particular order will be: Marshall Okell (formerly of Marshall & the Fro), fresh from conquering all at Bluesfest with a brand new album, sixteen piece steel pan band Pans on Fire, Colac royalty The Fire Alive, the singing suited up sausage fest that is Men in Suits, one man banned with four arms Richard Perso, the three octave vocals of Matt Chapman, local up and comers Katie Maxwell and Electric Filth, winners of the Apollo Bay Fest busking comp of 2008 Lash 78.

Time to start ringing around and organising your bus/plane/boat/designated driver and dust off the snorkel as the shipwreck of the Casino was visible from on the hill this morning. Remember that the following wednesday is a public holiday so we recommend you are sick on monday and tuesday and pack your mountain bike and ride the Forrest trails and grab some tuna….to ahem…..recover!

23 Days To Go!

With only weeks to go before it’s all on things at Festival HQ are getting exciting!

We are pleased to announce that this year the festival will feature boutique beer from Forrest Brewery, Flying Brick Cider from Leura Park estate in Portarlington, and Wine from Bay of Apostles. Combined with a wide selection of local food and delicacies you’ll be set for the weekend.

… And The Early Albatross Flys!

After the ticket purchasing madness crashed the website (for the second time) last week there are only a few Early Albatross tickets left and only a few days to get them in. Hit here to be there!

If you haven’t signed up to our newsletter already there is some special incentive with a free download each week of one of our feature artists. This week it is Tom Tuena and his song “Together.” If you have already signed up you can access the free download by entering your email address again. This doesn’t mean you’ll receive twice as much of this riveting spam…I mean information.

The final touches are being added to the program which will be available for download prior to the event, and a few more accommodation options have been added to the fast filling houses, campsites, motels, and backyards.

Early Albatross To Fly

With only a couple of weeks left until the Early Albatross flies it’s time to grab a bargain while farewelling this gracious bird that brings luck. All sorts of accommodation is on offer but is filling fast so make sure you have a bed sorted when getting your tickets.

Links for all the new bands announced have been added and updated with some fantastic visuals and back stories to boot, so make sure you do your research prior to make it easy when you hit the programme with the highlighter.

There has been a little confusion about when tickets will arrive. They are the actual wristbands this year so they are posted about a month prior to the event. Check out our newly updated FAQ page for more information.

Remember kids 15 and under are free and 16-17 year olds are only $35 + Booking Fee with Early Albatross holding adults so grab the last of the luck while it’s still there!

A Very Christmas Update

We know Christmas is close when container ships of plastic goodies destined for landfill are being spotted offshore heading like moths for the flickering lights of gullibility on the mainland. With nearly half the allocation of Early Albatross tickets gone and many more Artists and assorted fun still to be announced we are getting excited!

For the coming festival we have focused on Artists who will be launching albums just before and who aren’t playing anywhere else ever! At least that is the case for those who have failed to read the contract. We are now going through the important process of matching fine beverages and nosh to music so we can recommend the ideal combination to you good people.

As per usual help spread the word by sharing this message with those you want there, and those who you want to want you to be there. Sound like a Dr Seuss love in? Get to it like digital carrier pigeons.

Don’t forget, those 15 and under are free with an adult of their choice and those of the 16-17 year old variety can access youth tickets when their favourite adult person purchases one for the special Early price of $35 + BF and delivery.

Early Albatross Tickets on Sale

Welcome all to the new Apollo Bay Music Festival website for the upcoming 2012 20th Anniversary Spectacular!

Because its our 20th birthday we’d like to keep it nice and cosy and invite you and all your friends, and friends of friends, to snap up our Early Albatross tickets like a toadfish to a Pippi! These are sensational value compared to the Dis-oriented, late, and rarely spotted, southbound Dugong tickets that will be on offer for 2500 squid (or 127 abalone) if the others don’t sell out first.

With a new committee and a “playing” Director at the helm this year there will be lots of new things to enjoy, some old favourites, and some surprises we found in the backroom under twenty or less years of dust.

We’ve raised the kid free threshold to 15 and under and there will be a youth ticket available shortly for those of the 16-17 year old variety. We will also have some excellent food and beverage options using some of the finest local produce in our newly renovated corner store.

The site will be updated regularly from now on with accommodation packages and news on the latest performers, but to be the first to know sign up to our Facebook and Twitter pages via the links below or encourage others to subscribe to this very newsletter.
